The Procession of the Olympians, I mean Species

An annual event that finishes Art's Walk each Spring, The Procession of the Species is a parade featuring all sorts! A little bit of everything, the parade always has a theme, although I'm not sure that I know what this year's was. We enjoyed watching this year along with Adam, Molly, Tommy & Alec. Harper was content to snooze in Molly's arms while the commotion marched right on by! The boys were mesmerized with the parade goer's, all the while keeping an eye out for Ann, Jack & Lucas Bowers but unfortunately they did a great job of blending in so we missed them!

Our Garden of Nutrients (plus Pumpkins and Hopps)

The garden was planted with love and care in hopes that a bounty soon would be there. Drew wants pumpkins and Craig wants hops, Mama just wants to see if we'll actually harvest a side dish from this beautiful setting behind the shed, I mean shop! (Sorry Craig, you know I love to tease you when people refer to your shop as a shed!)

The boys worked hard to create this garden, planting seeds and starts of blueberries, broccoli, corn, cauliflower, cucumbers, potatoes, pumpkins, strawberries and a special spot for the hops. Harper and I sat back and enjoyed the sun, hoping to soon see the vegetables overflowing the garden.

Will he sink or swim?

Swimming lessons began this morning and the boys far exceeded our expectations. Drew and his best friend Tommy were members of the Pike class, and in 30 minutes, we witnessed them dunking their heads in the water, floating and (drum roll please)... jumping in for the finale. They were all smiles and are already excited for next week's class. Tommy's little brother Alec was excited to join in but settled for a puddle to stomp in. We're really looking forward to the lake this year - maybe they'll give Hunter a run for his money!
